A Simple Spring Charcuterie Board
A 20-Minute Approach to Effortless Entertaining
I pulled this board together in about 20 minutes on the way to an open house.
No overthinking, no complicated prep—just a quick stop at Trader Joe’s and a focus on a few combinations that work every time. When people walk into a home, they’re taking in a lot at once. A table like this helps slow that down. It gives them a place to pause, settle in, and feel comfortable.
That’s the goal.
This board follows a structure I use often. It keeps things simple, but still feels complete.
The Structure
A mix of cheeses
An assortment of meats
Fresh produce for color and balance
A crisp base
Something sweet to finish
What I Used
Cheeses
I chose a range that covered different textures and flavors:
An English Farmhouse cheddar with caramelized onion
A creamy Toscano soaked in Syrah
A Rutland Red, aged and slightly sharper
A fresh goat cheese with a spice blend
Meats
A simple assortment of cured meats
Produce
Red and green grapes
Baby tomatoes
Arugula
Strawberries
Crunch
Thin wafer crackers
Sweet Finish
Mini chocolate cakes
Dark chocolate-covered honeycomb
How It Comes Together
Start with the cheeses and space them out across the board. Add meats in between, letting them fold naturally instead of placing them flat. Fill in with produce—this is what brings everything to life visually. Tuck crackers along the edges or stack them loosely. Finish with something sweet placed where it feels balanced.
It doesn’t need to be precise. It just needs to feel intentional.
Why This Works for an Open House
People don’t stay long at most open houses, but they remember how a space feels.
A board like this creates an easy entry point. It invites people to linger for a minute, have a conversation, and picture themselves living there. It’s not about putting on a spread—it’s about creating a moment that feels considered.
That’s usually all it takes.
Get Started with Charcuterie
The biggest hurdle is just starting. Once you have a few pieces to work with, it comes together quickly.
We like Grazerie for this. They offer a range of shapes and sizes, and their kits are an easy way to pull a board together without overthinking it. They also make a good gift to have on hand.
